A monthly restaurant content plan: a practical template

A four-week restaurant content planning framework covering products, the venue experience, customer questions, approvals and enquiry measurement.

Choose a monthly objective

Pick a priority such as introducing a product, explaining the venue experience or encouraging enquiries about an available service. Record the audience, city, branches, current menu and opening details. Confirm any offer’s terms and availability before building content around it.

Give content four useful jobs

Plan product discovery, experience, decision support and a clear next step. These are functions rather than mandatory percentage splits. A new venue may need more introductions; a changing menu may need more practical updates.

Week one: explain a product

Choose a signature dish or menu category. Prepare a clear product image and a detail or preparation sequence using accurate information. Include the product name, description and a useful menu or ordering step. Avoid unapproved discounts or nutrition claims.

Week two: show the experience

Plan content about the atmosphere, serving moment or packaging that fits the business. Show the real experience. Obtain appropriate permission before publishing recognizable customers or other people. Help guests know what to expect rather than presenting an invented experience.

Week three: answer a decision question

Collect real questions from customer messages and the restaurant team: portion sizes, available options, branches or delivery coverage. Turn a useful question into a post or short video. Dietary and allergen information must come from verified operational information rather than creative assumptions.

Week four: review and refine

Review available content and enquiry evidence, then develop a useful theme further. Match the call to action to the real journey: a current menu, an enquiry or a booking option if offered. More views alone do not establish more orders or sales.

Plan approvals before production

Each calendar row needs an objective, idea, platform, required asset, approver and date. Confirm product information before writing copy. Group compatible shots when practical. Adapt the template’s volume to your team; its example rows do not represent a contractual service package.

Measure decisions, not just activity

Record what was published and what you learned. Separate reach, engagement, contact clicks, qualified enquiries and sales. Check acquisition sources where available and ask the front-of-house team about enquiry quality. Treat the monthly calendar as a starting point to refine, not a fixed-results promise.
